Latest Newsletter from the President
Our Summer break is about to come to a close – I feel that I will be slipping back into my ‘normal routine’ with U3A Stonnington in full action again. It will be so good to catch up with friends and acquaintances. I hope that you are all well.
Make the most of our program!
Overlooked something interesting? Enrol in it now.
We have a number of interesting new additions to our program. Check the program again on U-MAS, or the printed copy that is available at Reception or on the veranda. If find something in which you are interested, but have not enrolled in, you can do so on U-MAS or office volunteers will help you.
I am thoroughly enjoying the books for “Home Grown Aussie Crime” discussion. A mind expanding selection!
Our Treasure Trove of recorded presentations
As you will be aware most of our presentation have been recorded. These are listed on our website under ‘Courses and Activities’. They are password protected – ask at Reception for the password.
In fact, our Website is also a treasure – please check it out: https://u3astonnington.org.au/
Do you know someone who would like to give a talk at U3A – a family member? Friend? Yourself?
Please let me know – planning for the Semester 2 timetable has already begun.
A return to pre-Covid hospitality
Social gatherings have been gradually returning at U3A Stonnington. Action to promote these opportunities now includes some scheduled gatherings, and provision of biscuits as well as tea and coffee. If you would like to offer a hand at gatherings or do some shopping (reimbursed), or even just wash the tea towels, let me, or someone in the office know.
Walks, Visits and an Excursion
These are very popular activities – a lovely way to get spend time with a friend, and to get to know others. Walk leaders from the past have left a generous legacy of notes that can be used by someone else. Do you enjoy walking? Consider leading a walk.
Group visits were introduced in Semester 2 last year, and are popular – if there is a place or event that you would like to visit, so might others. Please contact me about leading a walk or having a U3A visit.
There will be one excursion in each Semester, details to be announced.
Volunteering at U3A Stonnington… MORE…
Our Volunteers get to know not only about the organisation, but to meet others and make new friends – and have the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile. There are tasks small and large that need to be done for the smooth running of U3A. Please get in touch with me or one of the Office volunteers.
I hope that we can all have a most enjoyable time together at U3A Stonnington this year!
Best wishes, Elizabeth
